Top 5 Clips Of The Week: December 22nd 2007

Wow, ok guys, I know I’ve been MIA lately, but things have been hectic with work, holiday parties and gaming. lol  So I had a good couple weeks break here, and I am back with a brand new Top 5 Clips Of The Week! oh yeah!  Alright, so let’s get this thing started.   Up first we have the brand new teaser trailer debuted 3 days ago by 3D Realms of Duke Nukem Forever.  And yes, we’ve all been waiting for this game forever, but it seems that an actually release looms closer than ever now, and we can only pray it actually happens in the next year.

HAHA, This next video cracks me up. It’s called “Beer Goggles” and it’s put up by theantigym.com.  I LOL’d hard at the cheesiness, but great line in this one.

Now I have for you the 2nd Episode of Gorgeous Tiny Chicken Machine Show. This has been around since early this year, but it’s unbelievably funny and a great spoof on japanese shows.. Gotta see it.

4th up is the music video “ChulChek (Roll Call)” by korean hip duo Dynamic Duo and it features Naul from browneyed soul. It came out earlier this year, butit’s a great song and a funny video.  Features many popular korean stars and parodies a lot of TV programming.

Finally I have one more music video for you. This is done by one of my favorite Hip Hop artists, Roscoe Umali. he’s a philipino cat from California.  He’s finally making it big after many features on Drunken Tiger albums.  He has 2 mixtapes out currently and working on a studio album, and has plenty of support from hip hop artists like Talib Kweli, E-40, Raekwon, Murphy Lee and many more.  This video is for his song “No: and features his good friend LOWD, who has a very unique style of his own.  This video is definitely a hot one, and features some nice transitions between the two artists.

Rock Review: Flyleaf “Flyleaf”

1. I’m So Sick ★★★★★
2. Fully Alive ★★★★★
3. Perfect ★★★★
4. Cassie ★★★★★
5. Sorrow ★★★★★
6. I’m Sorry ★★★★
7. All Around Me ★★★★★
8. Red Sam ★★★★★
9. There For You ★★★★★
10. Breathe Today ★★★★★
11. So I Thought ★★★★★

My latest review here is of Flyleaf’s Debut self-titled album, and it caught me by surprise. I can’t believe this album has been out since 2005, and even more I can’t believe I never heard them prior to the remix of “I’m So Sick” from the Resident Evil Extinction OST. Well I picked up this album after hearing that very remix and seeing some music videos of theirs. So after purchasing this CD while in California, and listening to it many times since then, I was in awe, as this album is amazing! Their style is alternative rock and as they’ve been labeled by some as Christian Rock, this is not exactly the case. They definitely have their Christian views influencing this CD, but I wouldn’t say it is what the album is all about. From the first track of “I’m So Sick” to the final song, “So I Thought”, it is an absolute treat with not even so much of a hiccup of even a mediocre track. You can feel the emotion, passion and intensity that the band and lead singer, Lacey Mosley, infused on every track, and never leaves you feeling something is missing. I kept looking for that something negative to say, as I was in disbelief that I was about post this 5 star review. You really have to check this album out, as I am assuring you will nto be disappointed. I can see why 2 years after initial release, they re-released this in a CD/DVD package, and it is still creating new fans such as myself. It definitely is an album that wil lstand the test of time and still be something worth listening to years down the road. If you do go purchase this album, get the version with the DVD, as it contains some great acoustic performances.

Final Verdict: ★★★★★ CLASSIC!! *MUST BUY*

Top 5 Clips Of The Week: Dec 1st 2007

Sorry for being a day late again.  Ended up having to work again last night and through off my schedule, so today I will have a couple posts. The Top 5 Clips in this post and 1 or 2 CD reviews finally.  Well, let’s get started shall we…

Up first is the brand new song by Tay Zonday, and many of you guys know him from “Chocolate Rain”, the song that YouTube by storm months ago.  Well he’s back with a Music Video now, and it was put together by Dr Pepper for their new Cherry Chocolate version, and the song is appropriately titled “Cherry Chocolate Rain”.  I always LOL’d at the song, and not in a demeaning way either, and this Music Video is definitely enjoyable.

Next up is a vicious hit in a High School football game. Dude gets knocked out so hard his helmet flies up and the ball is knocked about 20 yards back. It’s definitely a “HOLY SHIT!” moment.

Now I have for you the music video for this week, and it’s a hot one. It’s from Japan, and it’s called “Some Boys! Touch” by Maki Goto.  Maki Goto has really done a transformation from her Morning Musume days, and this video is the definitive moment in the transformation.  I’ve always found her beautiful, but this video makes her more of a zOMG! lulz…enjoy!

Now we have a clip from Chiseen, a Hong Kong jackass style video.  This is one of the really funny moments, and it involves them doing a game in the gist of spin the bottle, but instead of a bottle they use an electric fly swatter.  If it lands on you, you have to put your tongue to it, and man it looks painful.  Have your lulz at this one!

And last but definitely not least, is a tribute to a great football player thatw as Sean Taylor. He had a short, but already great career when his life was taken by a armed robber in his home this past Sunday, and unfortunately passed away from being shot Monday morning.  As a Raider’s fan growing up in Maryland, I watched the Redskins a lot, especially with my dad who is a Skins fan.  I’ve watched Taylor play since he came into the league and always enjoyed the intensity he played with. It’s sad that some people still call him a thug and have no sympathy for him, as he was in the midst of turning his life around since his daughter was born. Even players and coaches said it was a different Sean Taylor in the most recent years, and he was on the right track. So here is a nice 7 minute tribute to Sean Taylor, may you guys enjoy it, and may he Rest In Peace.

Til next week guys…PEACE

BCWA Match: Hudge vs Jason Haggerty

Well, I’ve been posting videos of my friend Kamikaze from his matches at BCWA. This time we have a match that he’s not wrestling in.  It’s between two other wrestlers known as Hudge and Jason Haggerty….BUT…if I’m posting it, you know you’re gonna see him.  He makes an appearance at the end of the match, and he makes sure his presence is felt, literally and figuratively. So check it out!!

Top 5 Clips Of The Week: November 24th 2007

Ok, I’m a day late on this week’s clips and really late on an update period. Sorry, as I have been just way too busy to get down to doing this.  Well, now that things have calmed down for me, let’s get it started!!!

First up is a  crazy snowboard video of a guy who comes up to a jump and as he starts his flip, he hits his head on the jump and is knocked out cold. I LOL’D!

Now we have another sports video, and this time it’s a pole vaulter and as he clears the stick and is on the way back down, the pole is their to greet him in a rather painful place.  Check it out. lulz

As I stated in my previous post, you’ll see MVs in my Top 5 Clips instead of their own weekly post, so next up is an interesting music video by the Korean singer Ivy as she pays tribute to Final Fantasy VII’s Advent Children feature. Particularly the fight scene in the church with Tifa. It’s really well done, and the song is pretty good to, but probably not for everyone. I’m a big Ivy fan and this is one of my favorite songs by her. Enjoy!

A lot of people really enjoyed the video I posted last week of Funny English, so here is another one for you. This time it’s asking people for their tragedy and then having them tell it in English.  Hilarious once again!

Finally, it’s getting close for many and already here for some… I’m talking about Icy roads, and this classic video of cars crashing over and over again is so funny.  It’s unbelievable how people don’t learn to go slow on ice, but it gives for great entertainment.

Ok, so I’m back on track for the posts and look forward to my next 2 CD reviews. Should be up in the very near future. PEACE!

Update on the lack of activity

I’m sure everyone who visits my blog on a consistent basis has noticed I haven’t updated my blog in a week. Things have been rather hectic for me lately and I haven’t had the time. I had football playoffs (we suffered a devastating first round loss), then I’ve been working some off shifts on the weekend and will continue to throughout the week, playing Halo 3 ( :P ), having my Creative Zen Xtra die (which forced me to finally buy an iPod of the 160GB kind. >_< ) and the worst happened yesterday, when my Heating Oil ran out, and after being refilled, it wouldn’t restart.  It was 57 degrees in my house when I left for work today, so I only hope the tech comes out tonight before I get home.  Well enough about the reasons for inactivity and on to the plans.

I have my next 2 CD reviews close to being finished and should be up in the next couple days. Once I have them up, I will start on a couple more.  I have also decided to do away with my Top 5 MVs and just include cool videos as I find them in my Top 5 Clips or as their own post.   The Top 5 Clips will remain, and I know I missed them this past Saturday, but look for them tomorrow. :D   I was working with a good friend of mine on creating a newblog design and layout, but I know she has even more busy than myself. So I hope by New Year it will have debuted already.  Well, I look forward to getting back on track with the blog in coming days, and I hope you guys will continue to support me by visiting the site.

Peace!   -G-Nitro

Top Music Videos Of The Week - Nov 12th 2007

It’s back! After a one week hiatus while I was in California, I have for you a new Top 5 MVs of the week.  It took me awhile to figure out what the subject would be this week.  So this week, I present to you….Top 5 90’s West Coast Rap Videos!!  Why? Because I was huge into the West Coast Rap music scene.  So we’re gonna start this off with Snoop Doggy Dogg’s Debut Single “Who Am I? (What’s My Name)”.  This was off one of the best rap albums of all time, “Doggystyle”, and that CD was stuck in my walkman for months before I switched to something else.

Up second I have the trio of Ice Cube, WC, and Mack 10, known as the Westside Connection.  This was another staple of my music collection in the 90’s.  Hell, I still bump this CD often, cuz it’s just that good. Here is their debut song, “Bow Down”.

Now, I have a great song by Jayo Felony featuring the likes of DMX and Method Man, called “Wacha Gonna Do”.  This song was such a banging hit back in the day. I love popping this song in my car’s CD player and just groove while driving.

Up next is the song “Let’s Ride” by Richie Rich.  I couldn’t leave this song out, as it was the song to blow out the speaker in my ‘90 Bonneville back in the day from the bass I was kicking in my car. It’s a really chill song, and a definite must from the ’90s West Coast scene.

And Finally, but never least is the man! Tupac!  Had to drop this gem on you guys, and you know the song. It’s “Hit Em Up” feat the Outlawz, and dissed Biggie, Puffy and Junior Mafia.  I can’t even tell you how much I played this song on repeat, LOL.   Check it out, and until next week…HOLLA!

Top 5 Clips Of The Week: November 10th 2007

So, it’s technically still Friday here in California, but as I sit in my hotel room on my last night here, I figured I’d post up my top 5 Clips tonight. After a great week in Cali, getting my training done, certified, and just eating a shitload of food, I’m about to head back to Maryland around 8:30PST. Unfortunately I did not have time to get the Top 5 MVs of the week done for this week, but don’t fret, as they will be back this Monday. :D Ok, enough about me, NOW FOR SOME LULZ!!!! Up first is a Music Video by an Indian artist that has been Buffalaxed! Which basically means this guy subbed the video based on what the words sound like and not a true translation, and it works! You’ll be LOL’ing for hour after this one.

And secondly I have a video of a poor cheerleader who should have just let things be, but instead faces the consequences.

Up now is a hilarious video out of Japan called Karakuri Funniest English. Basically this guy goes out on the streets of Japan and asks people to tell him a story, and then after they’re done, makes them tell it in English. In which they fail badly! Major lulz on this one.

BTW, if you didn’t know yet…..it’s no longer Saturday folks, for it is now CATURDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And finally, to end this week’s Top 5 Clips, I have another long video for you guys. This one tops College Saga that I posted last week, but what could I find that’s longer than the 40+ min CS ran? AMV Hell 3: The Motion Picture!! Someone actually took the entire movie and compressed it for YouTube and here it is for your viewing pleasure. I have watched this many times over on the DVD copy I have, and for those who enjoy it and want to actually download a better copy for themselves, check out http://amvhell.com/.

I just recently purchased Flyleaf’s debut album, and Nellie McKay’s latest CD, “Obligatory Villagers”. So I should have the reviews up for those CDs in the next couple weeks. I especially want to get Nellie McKay’s review up, as I am going to see her in Concert on December 2nd. Well, I look forward to Top 5 MVs of the Week this Monday, and I hope you guys enjoyed the top 5 clips this week. PEACE

Top 5 Clips Of The Week: November 3rd 2007

Hey guys, it’s another saturday, which means another top 5 clips of the week!!! And since I’m off to California tomorrow, I had to make sure I get these up tonight. I might skip the Top 5 MVs of the week while I’m away this week, but if I’m bored in my hotel room Monday, I’ll post them. Well here we go, and to kick it off is another flubb by Miss Olivia Munn from Attack of The Show. In this clip, she misreads the teleprompter and Kevin rags on her afterwards. It’s pretty damn funny.

Here’s a pretty funny car commercial that I saw way back when I was in the Air Force. It’s by Ford and it’s for their European model Sportska, and if ur a PETA member, you may wanna skip it. lol

Hahaha, up next is a great clip from this past Wednesday’s Ghost Hunter’s live. Elijah Burke of ECW was helping out with the investigation of Waverly Hills Sanitorium, when he drops his cell phone and FREAKS. He’s gonna hear jokes for awhile from his fellow wrestlers after this one.

Ok, now that you’ved watched it, I’ll explain what happened. As Elijah was talking to the others, he felt someone tapping/grabbing his shoulder, so as he looked over to acknowledge that person, there was no one there. Which is why you see him freak out, scream and run off. The clip I found does not include the discussion afterward unfortunately, but I hope this clears up as to why he got scared.

Next vid is of two Korean girls dancing and singing Yu Chae Young’s song Emotion. They are hilarious and have so much energy. I LOL’D so hard when i watched this.

Old school flub from Fox News! Sheppard Smith completely gaffes on this one, and it’s rather crazy, but prolly true. LOL

Alright all, I’ll try to post the MVs on Monday if I have time out in Cali. If Not, they’ll be back next week. ‘Til next time, PEACE!

20. Tiger JK Says (Outro)

Sup folks, here is my first Korean music review on my blog, and it just happens to be Drunken Tiger’s latest album, “Sky is The Limit”.  Some will agree with review and some won’t, especially those who have been disheartened since DJ Shine left the group after the 4th album, but onto the review.

Drunken Tiger’s 7th album kind of snuck up on me, as I found out it was releasing with only 3 weeks notice.  I must say I had to cop this album as soon as it dropped, as I loved the the 6th album.  After listening to the album many, many times, it is definitely a great album.  Tiger JK is definitely opening up with a very personal and emotional piece of work.  It touches many things that have happened in his life, including the passing of his grandmother in “8:45 Heaven” and multiple songs touching on him dealing with the disease myelitis, the inflammation of the spinal cord.  What we hear throughout are the ups and downs of what JK has been going through in the past 2 years since the 6th DT CD, and he only disappoints on 1 track.  That track is “Jam Skhool”, which tries it’s best to pay homage to old school hip hop, but instead comes off very weak and just an unnecessary song on a disc filled with flawless and near flawless tracks.  But other than that one misstep, the album possesses a feel and vibe not yet found on a Drunken Tiger album.  And while it’s not my favorite CD of theirs, it’s very close to that spot and it definitely is one of the best Korean hip hop CDs you will hear to date.  I definitely recommend picking this up and expect to not be let down on this latest outing.

Final Verdict:  ★★★★1/2

Tracks to Download: Resurrection, Every Night 1, Mutant, 8:45 Heaven, I Hate Myself, Die Legend
